The Division would like to welcome all new members of ACS Division of Chemical Education. Many of you may have joined this Division to network and become more involved. An easy way to get involved may be joining a committee. To do so, self-nominate yourself for participation in one of our committees.
The recipients will be honored at the award ceremony Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in conjunction with ACS Spring 2024 in New Orleans.

George C. Pimentel Award in Chemical Education, supported by an endowed fund established by the ACS Division of Chemical Education and the Board of Publications that supports the Journal of Chemical Education and Chemical Education Xchange: Donald J. Wink, University of Illinois Chicago

We seek to be inclusive of all members including chemical education practitioners and researchers across all levels of institutions as we try to match qualified individuals to service opportunities that they are interested in, have the appropriate skills to do and will benefit the Division.
The form allows individuals to share additional information about why you want to become involved in the Division and your qualifications. The Committee on Personnel and Nominations will begin reviewing committee interest by September 30. Kristy Jurchen and Chun-Hung Wang have both recently been awarded Dorothy And Moses Passer Education Grants. These grants are intended to support faculty in small programs that do not have graduate programs in the chemical sciences who are also Division of Chemical Education members. Application deadlines are January 1st, April 1st, and September 1st of each year.
Jurchen, who teaches at Concordia University in Nebraska, has received support to attend the National Conference to Advance POGIL Practice. Wang, who teaches at Northland Pioneer College in Arizona, has received support to attend the ACS Two-Year Faculty Workshop.
