The Finance Committee seeks to strengthen and simplify Division finances and their communication, admittedly no small tasks.
Is the ACS George C. Pimentel Award on your radar screen? It is on ours. At our recent Committee meeting, we voted to recommend fully endowing this award. Why? From a lack of sponsors, this award was not given in either 2020 or 2021. We think it should be given, but the price tag ($425K) raised a few eyebrows.
Any thoughts? The CHED Executive Committee makes the call here.
Is the BCCE on your radar screen as well? The Biennial Conference Committee (BCC) shepherds this conference. Financially, however, a conference that meets every other year presents accounting challenges to our annual budgets. No longer the case! We’re working to make the reporting more transparent. Down the line, we also need to consult widely to figure out how best to handle any BCCE profits or losses.
