Congratulations to the 2024 National ACS Award Recipients The recipients will be honored at the award ceremony Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in conjunction with ACS Spring 2024 in New Orleans. 2023 ACS Fellows Congratulations to the following DivCHED members who have been named ACS Fellows: Kristen L. Murphy University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Committee on Personnel and Nominations - Fall 2023 DivCHED invites members to get involved through leadership and committee roles, with the Committee on Personnel & Nominations working to match volunteers from diverse educational backgrounds to opportunities—interested members are encouraged to submit the Get-Involved form by posted deadlines. Safety Committee, Fall 2023 The DivCHED Safety Committee welcomes anyone at any experience level with an interest in safety education. The Journal of Chemical Education at 100 The year 2023 marks the 100th volume of the Journal of Chemical Education. So far this year there have been several collections highlighting 100 years of teaching and learning that have posted as Virtual Issues, with more to come. Early Career Chemistry Education Scholars Committee, Fall 2022 In Spring 2022, the Early Career Chemistry Education Scholars (ECCES) committee changed its name from the Younger Chemistry Education Scholars committee. Our committee launched its new name at the recent Biennial Conference on Chemical Education. Biennial Conference Committee, Fall 2022 The 2022 BCCE at Purdue was a major success with over 1,400 attendees, and planning is underway for future conferences—including BCCE 2024 at the University of Kentucky and BCCE 2026 at the University of Wisconsin–Madison—with resources available for prospective 2028 hosts. The Early Career Chemistry Education Scholars (ECCES) committee The Early Career Chemistry Education Scholars (ECCES) committee is dedicated to the recruitment and networking of graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and early faculty members in chemistry education research. From the Secretary/Councilor, Dan King, Spring 2022 As we slowly return to some sense of pre-pandemic normalcy while adjusting to the “new normal”, I hope that the transition is smooth for everyone.
