Our committee has made a few changes to the operations manual to include past-chair and chair-elect positions following the advice of our current Division Chair, Dr. Gina Frey. It will make continuity easier for the committee’s activities. 

We accomplished our goal of adding new members to our committee at BCCE 2026 Birds of a Feather event. We also made important observations throughout the conference to plan ways to increase pre-college educators’ attendance at this important coherence in the future. We are looking forward to meeting more of our members at the ACS Fall 2026 conference in Chicago. 

Finally, our committee meetings with the Laboratory Safety Institute are entering the final stretch to make a reality the new Laboratory Safety Award for High School Teachers.
