Greetings from the 2YC3!

The Two-Year College Chemistry Consortium (2YC3) and the Committee on Chemistry in the Two-Year Colleges (COCTYC) are excited to continue advancing first- and second-year chemistry education through building community and supporting professional development.

2YC3 hosted our 226th conference May 29–30, 2026 at Montgomery College in Silver Spring-Takoma Park, MD. Over 80 chemistry educators from primarily two-year colleges attended, along with 12 sponsors, and 6 student volunteers. The event featured 25 oral presentations, 7 workshops, planetarium show, campus tour, and roundtable with recent members of the ACS Two-Year College Community of Practice.

Our 227th conference will be held on May 28–29, 2027 at Georgia State University Perimeter College in Clarkston, Georgia. We hope to see you there!

Upcoming 2YC3 professional development & networking events:

The 2YC3-C3-ChemEdX webinar series will continue in the Fall. These webinars provide professional development and networking opportunities for all chemistry educators, and registration is free and open to the public.

We hope you’ll join us for the first event on Friday, September 11, featuring Michelle Kovarik from Trinity College, who will present “Real data, real chemistry: literature-based learning activities.”
