DIVCHED Virtual Conference for Graduate Students and Postdocs in Chemical Education Research

Virtual Conference for Graduate Students and Postdocs in Chemical Education Research

The DIVCHED Virtual Conference for Graduate Students and Postdocs in Chemical Education Research (July 28–30) just finished and was a huge success!

Led and organized by Michelle Herridge, Chair-elect of ECCES, this conference brought together CER professionals from across the country to share valuable insights on career pathways, publishing, navigating the job, market, mentoring, and more—plus posters, small-group discussions, and networking with peers nationwide.

This initiative was a joint effort between the Early Career Chemistry Education Scholars (ECCES) Committee and the G2S1 Strategic Planning Team, focused on creating more professional learning opportunities for our CHED community.

A huge thank-you to our wonderful speakers: Thom Bussey, Carly Schnoebelen, Kim Cortes, Josh Edwards, Morgan Howe, Annika Kraft, Vanessa Rosa, Stephanie Ryan, Resa Kelly, Scott Lewis, Jordan Harshman, Renee Cole, Sam Pazicni, Ryan Stowe, and Rebecca Samson.

Special thanks to the amazing ECCES committee members who moderated and facilitated breakout rooms: Olivia Crandell, Danielle Maxwell, Katy Hosbein, Molly Atkinson, Melissa Collini, Paulette Vincent-Ruz, Lyniesha Ward, and Chloe Sells. This event would not have been possible without you!

Finally, a thank you to the planning team—Ryan Stowe, Rebecca Samson, and especially Michelle Herridge. A big shout-out to Michelle whose leadership, vision, and energy made this conference a reality in just four short months. She is amazing and I so enjoyed working with her!

If you missed this one, don’t worry—we’re planning more in the future. Stay tuned for next year’s event!
