Message from the Immediate Past Chair, Resa Kelly, Spring 2025 In her first message as Immediate Past Chair, Resa thanks CHED members and leadership for their collaboration and dedication, highlights the progress on the Division’s Strategic Plan, and reflects on the value of persistence and collective effort in advancing chemistry education.

Message from the Chair, Thom Bussey, Spring 2025 The Division of Chemical Education honors the late Ron Perkins, the first high school teacher to chair DivCHED. Gratitude is extended to outgoing Executive Committee members, and a warm welcome to new members in 2025. Progress continues on the strategic plan, focusing on engagement, professional development, and communication, including a website renovation. Members are invited to the DivCHED Social Reception at the ACS 2025 Spring Meeting on March 23 (5:30–7:00 PM, Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina). To foster open communication, monthly Office Hours are held on the second Wednesday of each month. Members are encouraged to get involved—contact tbussey@ucsd.edu or hljohnson@divched.org for opportunities.

Congratulations to the newly appointed board members! The DivCHED Executive Committee met during the Fall 2024 ACS meeting and elected the following candidates to the Board of Trustees and Board of Publication.

From the Member-at-Large, Amiee Modic Despite the fact that we have “the summer off” as chemical educators, many of us have been quite busy this summer. Some teaching summer school, some traveling to refresh their minds, and a large group of people who participated in a summer conference (or two.) This summer was pretty full for me with two conferences and two meetings, of course if you add the zoom meetings the count goes up!

Celebrating Our Progress and Achievements, Resa Kelly 2024 DivCHED Chair I’m thrilled to update you on the exciting strides we’ve made in our Division’s Strategic Plan, which we launched just over three months ago. As we navigate through our 5-year journey, several teams have made significant progress, and I’m eager to share their achievements with you.

Immediate Past Chair, Kim Cortes - Spring 2024 As spring brings personal renewal and a new strategic direction for DivCHED, Kim Cortes reflects on the community's support during their daughter's cancer treatment, emphasizes the value of belonging, and commends the inclusive leadership guiding the Division into its next chapter.
