As I enter the immediate past chair year, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the members of the Division of Chemical Education. Your dedication to advancing chemistry education continues to inspire and strengthen our community.
I am especially grateful to those who contributed to the Division’s Strategic Plan—your insights and commitment have been invaluable in shaping our shared vision. I also want to thank the members of the Executive Committee for their collaboration and steadfast support.
A special note of appreciation goes to the incredible chair succession team. I began this journey alongside Vicente Talanquer and Kim Cortes, continued it with Kim and Thom Bussey during my term as chair, and now conclude it with Thom and Gina Frey. Your leadership and partnership have made this work both rewarding and meaningful. I am also deeply appreciative of Heather Johnson for her ongoing support and assistance.
I am reminded of one of my favorite quotes: “The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep running.” I’ll admit, I’m particularly fond of this quote because once, during a race, a speed walker passed me—but beyond that humbling moment, it serves as a reminder that consistency and commitment are key. Thank you all for your dedication to moving our Division forward—together, we continue to make a lasting impact.
Warm regards,
Resa Kelly
