Welcome from the Biennial Conference Committee. It was great to see many of you at Purdue this summer at the 2022 BCCE. With over 1430 registered attendees, over 1000 presentations, 160 posters, and 85 workshops, it was a vibrant conference that provided lots of opportunities for chemistry instructors and chemistry education research scholars to share their work, engage in professional development, and reengage with the community. The conference was a resounding success, and we thank the organizing committee for putting together a fantastic event.
Planning for the 2024 BCCE is in full swing, so save the dates on your calendar. The organizing team is hard at work and the call for symposia and workshops is less than a year away.
The committee has completed the review process for the 2026 BCCE and the DivChed Executive Committee has approved the University of Wisconsin-Madison as the host site. While 2028 seems like a long way away, we are beginning the process of soliciting bids for that BCCE and encourage interested groups to let us know if they are exploring the possibility of hosting a BCCE in the future. Letters of intent will be due in December 2023, so this is a good time to start thinking about what this would entail. The committee has put together a number of resources to assist groups considering hosting to communicate expectations and available supports.
