This past fall and winter have been very busy and our excitement continues to ramp up as we approach this summer’s BCCE. Late in the year, the BCC met and chose a new Co-Chair, Carly Schnoebelen of Pierce College, Washington. Carly was on the organizing team for the 2022 BCCE at Purdue University and has served on the BCC since, making her a great addition to the leadership team! Our immense thanks go out to our immediate past Co-Chair, Renee Cole, for her service in the role. Renee has agreed to remain in touch with the committee through the search for the next Meeting Planning Partner (MPP).
Our Spring Open Meeting will be held on Sunday, March 15 at 1pm ET (12pm CT/11am MT/10am PT) via Zoom. You will find the Zoom link on the DivCHED Website with the rest of the scheduled meetings.
The UW-Madison Team and BCC committee members are eagerly preparing for the 2026 BCCE in Madison, Wisconsin July 26-30. Registration for the conference opens March 18 and early bird registration will go through May 18. More information regarding BCCE 2026 can be found here: DivCHED Spring 2026 Newsletter. This will also be the first BCCE to offer a fully virtual attendance option. Through the newly-created BCCE scholarship fund, we have so far awarded just under $31,000 in scholarships and look forward to awarding more funds through a second round of applications, which are due April 15th at 11:59PM ET. If you applied during the first round and have not heard back, don’t panic! All applications from the first deadline are automatically rolled to the second group and re-evaluated.
The 2028 BCCE will be hosted at the University of California, San Diego and chaired by Thomas Bussey and Jack Eichler. Planning is well underway and the BCC is coordinating with the organizing committee and host site. We will keep the community updated as more details become available. We are still looking for hosts for the 2030 BCCE, please contact the BCC co-chairs if you are interested or would like to learn more.
