Since we have had our name change in August 2025, we have worked to represent the division at national meetings, communicate with members and start to work on a demographic profile of the division. Our goals have changed to include all membership of the division not just new members. This means our focus is shifted to include events where all educators can attend and feel welcome.
At our August meeting (5 attended), we discussed ideas for the meeting socials along with some digital events. We know that not everyone can attend the national meetings, and so one of our goals is to have a digital (zoom) event this year. We came up with many ideas. At our December meeting (3 attended) we discussed the need to update our operations manual. We talked in detail about our responsibilities. At our February meeting (6 attended), we worked on the operations manual and made plans for the social at the Spring ACS meeting. Currently, we plan to have an updated operations manual by the National Meeting. We also have discussed the need to update our committee information on the website and in newsletters.
Our future plans include review of the National Meeting social, plan a digital social for the late spring, and start to analyze the membership of the division to create a profile. We plan to send out a survey this year to understand more about our membership and what we can provide. We also plan to attend BCCE and the fall meeting to help recruit new members.
For our budget 2026, we have $3000 to spend to attend both national meetings to run the social, represent the division and help recruit new members.
