The NMC started meeting with its new chair in February 2025. There is a need to shift this committee to include all members of the division. At this time, we are writing up a request to shift our charge. This will be presented at the Fall Meeting in August 2025.
A change of chair took place in January from Mary Beth Anzovino to Mary van Opstal.
The NMC met twice since the last report in the Fall. In addition, Mary met with Thom Bussey in May to discuss changes to the committee, including its name and directive.
At our NMC meetings, we discussed the data that was collected and presented at BCCE 2024. We plan to use that data to write a yearly assessment to ensure that members feel heard. In addition we will consider opportunities to hold virtual networking events along with presence at the annual meetings.
We will meet again in June to further discuss these changes and prepare a presentation for the board.
We currently have a lot of planning to do before implementation of events or assessments.
Our future plans include increasing membership presence at meetings, connecting with other committees, build virtual networking events and using the demographic data to reach out to all members.
We will present at the fall meeting to change our name and edit our charge.
