Program Committee News, Fall 2025

The Fall ACS meeting is rapidly approaching!  If you are attending the meeting, we hope that you enjoy the time with colleagues and get to learn something new. Let’s share a big thank you to Aimee Miller and Cary Supalo who are meeting co-chairs. For the fall meeting we had 333 submissions to CHED including 141 oral presentations, 12 virtual oral presentations, 49 general posters, and 131 student posters.

The big change this fall is that there are no technical programming on Sunday (sessions will start on Monday).  That doesn’t mean that there won’t be stuff to do and see, as the Chem Luminaries and ACS Connect Social Hour will be happening on Sunday (be sure to come out and visit the DivCHED space at the ACS Connect event Sunday night. Most of the DivCHED programming will occur on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Tuesday would be a great opportunity to visit some of the Innovative Programming sessions on hot topics that ACS is offering.  Most of the undergraduate focus activities have been moved to Monday with this new format.

Although the Fall 2025 meeting hasn’t yet occurred, the Program Committee is already working on the Spring 2026 meeting which is chaired by Faith Yarberry and Craig Teague. We wanted to thank the many people who provided suggestions for potential symposia. As a result, we are very excited about the diversity of symposia that are part of the CHED program. You can head to maps.acs.org to check out the different symposia and submit an abstract while you are there! The deadline for submissions is September 29th. We hope to see you in Atlanta!

Later this fall, the Program Committee will be reaching out to the DivCHED members to submit potential symposia for the Fall 2026 meeting.  Get your thinking caps on for what sessions you would like to see at that meeting.
