Our core activity has been planning the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 meetings.
For Fall, we oversaw the organization of all the symposia and got everything arranged (Co-chairs Aimee Miller and Julie Smist with support by Ryan Sweeder). The meeting is nearly here.
For the Spring semester, we collected symposia suggestions from the DivCHED membership. The co-chairs (Pam Clevanger and Faith Yarberry) met with Ryan and other members of the committee as available to discuss potential symposia to accept in Jun. The symposia were submitted in July so that the abstract submission process is open by Aug 5th. This solicitation and review process was new to the committee, but is meant to build more transparency and gather greater input from the community about what to present. As a note, not all submissions were accepted and some suggestions were combined.
We will continue work toward the Spring 2025 meeting and begin work on the Fall 2025 meeting.
The Committee Chair will be seeking a co-chair to begin learning the expectations in 2025 with the anticipation that they will then lead the process in 2026. Sweeder will still be on the committee and will be able to consult. After that, Sweeder will be off the committee due to term limits.
$400 (apparently)
so far nothing. My understanding is that this can be used to support a recognition of the work of the co-chairs through a dinner. That would happen at the fall meeting.
