Information Since Last Report

The committee has had internal discussions about our mission staetments, as well as discussions with Chair Resa Kelly. Our consensus mission statement is: 

The PR committee is responsible for developing, updating and monitoring the Division’s communications policies, supporting the lead users of DivCHED social networking accounts as well as recommending new strategies for the Division to communicate by social media and other venues with DivCHED members and the larger chemical education community.

Prof. Kelly noted to us at our recent meeting that a charge was created for the committee at the time of creation of the committee at the Fall 2019 meeting. That charge was: The Public Relations Committee will work to finalize a social media policy, update the DivCHED website, re-envision the Division newsletter, and improve communication with new members. 

Future Plans

We will discuss if there is a need to re-state the mission statement given the information from Resa Kelly. We also plan to discuss a chair succession including appointing a co-chair as well as finalizing an operations manual. We will also be coordinating with the Strategic Plan committee for Goal 3, Strategy 2.
