The Journal of Chemical Education at 100 The year 2023 marks the 100th volume of the Journal of Chemical Education. So far this year there have been several collections highlighting 100 years of teaching and learning that have posted as Virtual Issues, with more to come. Safety Committee Comments, Fall 2022 The DivCHED Safety Committee would like to know how we can help faculty teach safety better and help faculty and students to work more safely. Early Career Chemistry Education Scholars Committee, Fall 2022 In Spring 2022, the Early Career Chemistry Education Scholars (ECCES) committee changed its name from the Younger Chemistry Education Scholars committee. Our committee launched its new name at the recent Biennial Conference on Chemical Education. Biennial Conference Committee, Fall 2022 The 2022 BCCE at Purdue was a major success with over 1,400 attendees, and planning is underway for future conferences—including BCCE 2024 at the University of Kentucky and BCCE 2026 at the University of Wisconsin–Madison—with resources available for prospective 2028 hosts. Message from the Chair, Vicente Talanquer Vicente Talanquer highlights DivCHED's active summer, including the 2022 BCCE, virtual fall governance meetings, the endowment of the Pimentel Award, member achievements, and upcoming elections—encouraging continued engagement in advancing chemistry education. At ACS we have seen this transition in meeting format. The Regional Meetings Committee (RMC) Fall 2021 Report The Regional Meetings Committee advanced its mission in 2021 by recognizing outstanding high school chemistry teachers with regional awards, promoting chemical education programming at regional ACS meetings, and collaborating on a new outreach poster to highlight DivCHED’s work and recruit new members.
